“Art can be a relaxing and healing process.”
Sophie is a Brisbane based artist and educator, and one of our founding resident artists at Rosé Soirée. When she’s not immersed in her academic studies or creating a vibrant atmosphere for our paint and sip guests, Sophie finds joy and relaxation in her personal artistic endeavours, specialising in fine line pieces, watercolours on paper and acrylic works on canvas.
Sophie's artistic journey began at a young age when she discovered the profound impact art had on her well-being. Throughout her life, she has honed her skills and nurtured her artistic expression, finding solace and healing in the act of creation. Combining her love for art and her passion for teaching, Sophie is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and expertise, guiding others on their artistic journeys, and helping them find their unique voices through creative expression.
Sophie’s philosophy of art revolves around the belief that art is a powerful tool for relaxation, inspiration, and self-discovery. To her, art is not just an external expression but a deeply personal and transformative experience. She believes Art can serve as a sacred space where we can immerse ourselves in the act of creation, allowing each piece tell a part of our story.
Sophie's artistic motivation springs from a desire to create not just visually appealing pieces but also a sanctuary for herself and others. With each stroke of her brush or pen, she infuses her art with a sense of peace and tranquillity, reflecting her own inner journey. Sophie's work is an invitation for viewers to find moments of serenity and calm in the intricate beauty of the fine lines she brings to life on paper with ink or watercolour or canvas with acrylic. Her work is an invitation for viewers to embark on their own journey of self-reflection and introspection, much like she does in the process of creating each piece. By sharing her art, Sophie hopes to leave a lasting impression of the power and possibilities of artistic expression.
